This large frame revolver was developed by Henri Pieper and manufactured in Liege around 1893.
It incorporated some of the most advanced technologies of the time: Pryse's rebounding hammer, Colt's swing out cylinder, Smith & Wesson's simultaneous ejection and Nagant's gas seal system.
When hammer was cocked, the cylinder moved forward and sealed the gap between chamber and barrel.
A small number of these revolvers were manufactured to accommodate Mexican Government contract.
Along with Mauser and Colt, Pieper's revolver became synonymous with Mexican Revolution of 1910-1920. This particular example is in outstanding condition for its age.
